Perley J. Lee of Bangor Maine. He passed away in February 2006 at the age of 81. My Aunt has given me lots of his military memorabilia, one being the book, The Bunker Hill Story. He is listed in there. He was stationed on the Bunker Hill from what I can tell from June 1943 until the bombing on May 11th 1945, and discharged from active duty in May 1946. He had never spoken about his time on the Bunker Hill and we were shocked to find photo albums of newspaper clippings, original photos, his medals, etc. He has a large and fascinating collection. We are still looking for a shipboard diary he mentioned in a newspaper article during one of his leaves in Oct. 1944. I was hoping to find out anything or anyone who remembers Perley J. Lee of Bangor Maine. Any stories or friends he hung out with. He is listed as WT3c, B Div., Evaporators and #3 Fire room and I also found notes of Water tender, third class. Thanks so much for anything you can assist with. Cheryl MacDonald Newington, CT Dmacdo5002@aol.com
